One of the first problems I had to resolve before I could get the engine running properly was that the fuel pump wouldn't pump. Here it's shown dismantled and making my dining room stink of carb cleaner.
Turned out that the pushrod was seized. Liberal application of penetrating oil and exercise of the mechanism (read: Whacked it repeatedly with a hammer) soon got it freed off. The fuel pump is now working perfectly again.
