Takatoro, also known as the Kotohira Tall Lantern, is a large, 27-meter (89 ft) tall, wooden lantern located in Kotohira, Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. It's the tallest lantern in Japan and was originally built in 1860 as a lighthouse for sailors navigating the Seto Inland Sea and as a landmark for those visiting the nearby Konpira Shrine.
