This movie was HUGE back in the 80's. Man alive, did all us kids love this back then. I remember the parents loving it equally it seemed also. It might not have gotten as huge as ET or star wars but I can attest, it was pretty darn close at least from a kids perspective. They had the lunch boxes, and play cars, little toy men figures etc. That song, all over the radio too of course. Major part of the 80's. A true classic.
Latter in life, my buddy and I rented it too, as he somehow never got to see it. He loved it and part 2 also of course.
"When there's something strange, in your neighborhood, who you gonna call?"
No one alive in the 80's at least, old enough to remember them, doesn't know about this movie. That would be impossible.
