AutoTrail vans of this era came with an additional set of rear lights mounted just below the level of the rear window. Useful given it wasn't unusual to see things like bikes or external luggage racks used, so this helped to ensure the lights weren't obscured.
They also have better visibility from the sides, the standard lights aren't great like that as they're recessed into the bumper.
Given how busy the roads are these days they seem a common sense upgrade anyway.
