Also added a comparison with all the VHS releases. I was really surprised to find that the 1986 vhs is the only home media release faithful to the original colors. The digital restoration was made sometime in the late 90's, as you can see that by 1997, they had already changed the colors, and it seems that the image ratio as well, since Maleficent's face looks very elongated in the 35mm and 1986 vhs, but not so much in the other two. The blu ray is essentially a restoration of the 2003 VHS, rather than a restoration of the source material.
