This was one my favorites in a stack of CED's that was given to me by my grandparents with their player in the 80's. I wasn't supposed to take any with an R rating but I got to sneak a couple out haha. This was one of them and man, was I some happy for it too. After the 3 Rocky movies, I watched this one the most and was my second favorite after Rocky 1-3 that I also had. It took me a few years to find a clean enough copy for this near mint collection! My guess is, everyone who had a copy must of played theirs a lot too! Understandably!
This is the ONLY true version of Blade Runner. ALL other versions are TRASH!
This is the "theatrical release" which includes voice over narration by Harrison Ford. I loved this as a kid! I thought it was so cool. In this version, there's no indication or hint that Deckard is a replicant. To me, since this is the first official release, this is and will always be the "definitive" release. I've checked out all the others, and none of them are as good as this version! Is it just due to nostalgia? Perhaps, but I don't think so. I still love the narration to this day and think it's still cool. I don't like the missing scenes and chopped down version of the directors cut, even if it did include the narration, I wouldn't care for it. THIS is the masterpiece version. Trying to re-create a movie after it's been released is ignorant, even if it's not what the creator originally intended. Once it's released, leave it alone! Don't try to re-create it, no matter how good intentions are. It's ignorant to release 7 versions of a movie trying to "get it right" years latter. Just like Star Wars; the FIRST release is the only true movie. Anything after is a reboot or a re-creation. It will never be the true, definitive version.
Blade Runner 2049 (2017) is great too! Not as good as the first movie but darn close! I went to the theaters to watch that one and wasn't disappointed! Man, wouldn't I love to see a third one come out to make it a trilogy!
