One of the more interesting fighters of WWI. It was distrusted by the brass and most pilots for being a monoplane. Such prejudices were common as the performance of monoplanes had done little to endear them to pilots. Late in the war, some were used against the Turks on the Macedonian Front with startling results. In a two week span, a fellow named Travers allegedly used a M.1c to shoot down two observation planes, two Albatross D-V's and a Fokker D-VII, but it turns out that he was most likely using a Camel. Travers went on to a stellar career in aviation. The model was fairly easy to construct as the plane was famous for its simplicity. The engine, which is barely visible, spins with the prop as per the original. This is the first time I used packing tape to cover the plans, one of my better innovations.
