We occasionally see cards with sharpie/writing/markers on them. These are some of the easiest cards to validate at home as being real and from the factory when observed up close, but only if the writing touches the border of the card.
These are the fake cards I made to show how even when this is taped off and cards are pressed together, there's still a bit of ink that transfers to the side of the card.
