Payed $73.63 including shipping, June 2023 Sealed. Appears to be a factory seal based on condition of cellophane and mint condition of label.
I stole this thing! Seller didn't know it's true value (probably around $200 if not more; how many sealed copies of the Goonies can there be? The title is so hard to find in general, this might be the only one left.)
UPDATE: On May, 26 2024 another sealed copy went to auction on ebay, and the winning bid was $1,276.51 - Based on the photo's, I couldn't tell if it was an early reseal or factory seal. It could be a copy that looks like mine; in that there appears to be dirt/grime on the label, but in person, on my copy, I can see it's all on the seal (but due to age, it's became impregnated in the seal; it wouldn't wash off) but the label below is clean. The same may be the case for that copy. I would have to see it person to know. Nonetheless, copies with near mint labels on this title are ALL extremely rare. Sealed or unsealed.
I sold (let it go to auction starting at $1) the copy this replaced, slightly under near mint condition; "very good" I'd call it, which took me years to find btw for over $100. I ended up upgrading to this sealed version and being payed for it. Even at that, for as clean as it was, someone still got a very good bargain. It was the cleanest unsealed copy I had ever seen. It only had a one nick on the label. If not for stumbling upon this sealed copy, It would have been worthy of this collection, without questioning.
The CED/ Stereo sticker does not belong to this disc. Someone cut it off another seal and it was included with a bundle I bought separately. I was waiting to add it to a cool one sometime. I never dreamed I would find a sealed copy of this hard to find title! I couldn't imagine a better place for it. It's inserted loosely in the ziplock and slid to the bottom after taking the photo. If you look close, you can see they rough cut it out. I could clean it up but I'm not out to trick anyone. It's a factory seal just the same though, best I can tell. Majority of flaws are all on cellophane.

This movie was pretty darn big in the 80's! What an adventure! It was like an Indiana Jones for kids! We all loved it of course.
.
I have noticed any movie with a date of 1985, seems to be very rare on this format. With just a couple movies of '86 being released, and those being ever more rare. Though CED-Magic; a popular forum devoted to the CED doesn't list all 1985's with very rare designation, based on me watching online sites where these are sold, nearly daily, for a couple years now, I have come to believe ALL 1985 (along with the very few '86) releases like this one, were ALL made in very low quantities, as RCA was going out of business. Not that I know of all the 1985 releases but the ones I do know of, for example; The Goonies, Rhinestone, Friday the 13th - part 5, Godzilla 1985, Rocky 4, Enemy Mine, Just one of the guys, Teen wolf, Weird science etc. though, not often sold at high prices, you'll notice these titles are few and far between! It took a couple years to find clean copies of these for example, to meet my "near mint" label CED collection that you see here.
There seems to be an exception to this rule though, in that RCA's final (public) release "Jewel of the Nile" appears to be "fairly" common. At least compared to just how very rare the majority of '85/'86 releases appear to be.
