This was one of those late releases that was cheap. I got the original copy, new for like $10. I liked it at the time, though it sucks today haha. Not only is the gameplay and controls bad, but it's killer hard. I'm pretty sure, I kept on until I beat it, but can't recall for sure. Just checked a youtube video and I recall everything but the very last part and lame ending, so there's no way I didn't finish that final part of the last level. I must of beaten it the once and then had enough of it.
Looking back, I remember that it was all about the challenge, but it was so hard, it was far more frustrating than it was fun, but I had already played the most popular games, so this is why I stuck to this one.
Due to being a late release, this crappy game sells for too much today, so I just got a repro. I would have gotten a repro manual too, but no one makes them at this time.
The only good part of the game is the music. Wasn't worth playing back then, let alone messing with today. If you ever get board and want an old school, hardcore NES experience to pull your hair out, this will work, I can assure you! It's right up there in difficulty, with Nija Gainen and TMNT. Do yourself a favor and just go play ANY modern game instead.
If you want a copy, just get a re-pop. This game (authentic or not) isn't worth anymore than the $10 when it was new, hardly making the repro worthwhile. They only way I would even buy the reproduction, is due to the nostalgia and wanting to complete the set of all the games I had as a kid. I wouldn't buy a copy for any other reason and if you're going for a whole set and need to buy one, I don't envy you.
