I remember this movie came on TV one Sunday afternoon when I was a pre-teen or teenager. I thought it was super cool! Loved his rock and roll singing and lifestyle. Now older, I also appreciate the good love story that it is too. Although Barbra's singing isn't my taste, I sure can appreciate how pretty her voice is and talented she is also. I've seen the more recent remake, not as good to me, perhaps due to nostalgia. Hard to say. I've yet to see the (1954) original though!
