LIGUE ANTI-JUIVE DE FRANCE
La Ligue anti-juive de France d'abord connue sous le nom de Ligue nationale antisémitique de France (dite aussi Ligue antisémite française) était une ligue anti-juive et antimaçonnique française fondée et présidée par le journaliste Édouard Drumont en 1889.
L'aventurier le Marquis de Morès était ausi un fondateur.
Elle avait pour délégué général Jacques de Biez et Jules Guérin en fut l'un des membres les plus actifs; son siège était situé à Paris, rue Lepic.
Historique
La fondation de la Ligue antisémitique succède au succès de ' La France Juive " de Drumont, elle est également issue de la crise boulangiste.
Les principaux organes qui soutiendront les activités de la ligue sont : La Libre parole (Édouard Drumont), L'Antijuif (Jules Guérin), La Cocarde (Maurice Barrès), L'Intransigeant (Henri Rochefort) et le journal catholique La CroixParallèlement à son activité de propagande, la ligue organise des manifestations antisémites, elle distribue des tracts, pose des affiches en période électorale et provoque quelques émeutes.
Elle fut très impliquée dans la campagne boulangiste, la dénonciation du scandale de Panama, le combat anti-dreyfusard et la lutte contre la franc-maçonnerie dont elle a dénoncé les implications et les complots supposés dans la politique de la Troisième République.
En 1899, après une brouille entre Édouard Drumont et Jules Guérin, la Ligue antisémitique devient - sous l'initiative de ce dernier - le Grand Occident de France (toujours anti-juif, mais plus explicitement anti-maçonnique puisque ce nouveau nom est choisi en réaction contre le Grand Orient de France).
Elle est alors liée essentiellement à L'Anti-juif, le journal de Guérin.
La ligue disparaît progressivement à la suite de l'épisode du Fort Chabrol et de l'arrestation de Guérin !
