Backstory: I started on making these three Pokemon around August 2018. I wanted to make a mammal grass starter, like Grookey. I worked on drawing the first two stages in December, and felt like something was wrong. I held it off until late February 2019, when the Pokemon Direct announced Grookey. I was kind of mad that the one I made looked like Grookey, so I scrapped it. Then about a year later, I come across the fact that there hasn't been a grass starter Pokemon that looked feminine since Meganium. So I made Vinescent have pigtails that light up. It wasn't what I was hoping for, but it was okay. I basically did the same with Illumiseed, and added more "sashes." Then I decided to go all out with Shilusprout. The "sashes" turned into a onesie that was easy to cosplay, and I think it looked pretty feminine, and it's the first grass starter to be a fairy type. So overall, I think it was a win-win.
