This videodisc player was given to me from my grandparents, after they upgraded to a VCR in the 80's. I was a 5th or 6th grader probably and this 80's boy was on the top of the world! Sure, the stack of CED's that came with it were rental discs so a few of them skipped pretty bad but for the most part, they played ok. I had a small tv in my room and I must of watched the Rocky movies, Cannonball run 2, & Blade runner and smokey and the bandit a million times! :)
The last time I had this hooked up, in the early 2000's it still worked, though I had to remove the lid and help it hook onto the videodisc spline, then it would continue to eject the caddy and play just fine. Who knows what would happen now if I plugged it in.

UPDATE 12/31/2022 - I plugged it in for the first time in about 18 to 20 years. I heard a motor running continuously. I looked at it and see a rubber band/ belt completely disintegrated. It's located on the rear, upper left of the unit. It appears very easy to replace. However, I question why it spins continuously without a rubber band/ belt and if it would stop if I replace it.
