Payed $74.71 including shipping Aug. 2024
Sealed. Appears to be factory seal based on condition and stickers.
Fun fact; Did you know $19.98 in 1985 is like $60 in 2024 money?
No way this CED's true value is only $15 above inflation, 39 years latter, being that it's a sealed Star Wars.
A Star Wars collector sold this to me on ebay. She listed it as buy it now.
It had been listed for a little while I think before I happened to see it. So lucky!
If this went to auction, I have no clue what it could go for! The sky is the limit!
I know personally, I would have easily bid up to at least $250 if I had too!... But I'm not sure that would be high enough! If someone told me, it might reach a grand, I don't think I'd agree, however I wouldn't call them crazy either. A sealed copy of The Goonies sold for over $1,200 this (2024) year on ebay, so this could potentially top that, I should think, don't you?
Being that it's Star Wars, I always had the feeling a Star Wars collector had to be sitting on a sealed copy. Sure enough. She told me she had it in her collection for a long time, though she wasn't the original purchaser.
She also had it listed with a best offer! No way was I waiting a second, once I spotted it. I couldn't hit the buy it now fast enough! There is no way the true value of this sealed copy is under three digits. Not a chance. Most non-CED collectors, don't know which titles, or which titles when sealed like this, should go to auction. Talk about lucky! My best guess is, it had been up for at least an hour or so. Maybe a couple hours.
After writing this, I got super curious and had to ask. She say's I bought it within the hour! That explains why I got it then. It hadn't been up for as long as I hadn't been watching listings that day.
Oh man, what is there to say about these movies that hasn't already been said? I can remember vividly watching these movies at the drive-in's and we saw them there several times! What a treat!
