Guillow's PBY-5A that I built in 1995 for my Dad, a pilot with VP-12, the original Black Cat squadron. It depicts the plane he flew during his second tour with VP-12, Mostly bombing Bougainville. He picked up the plane directly from the Consolidated factory and had a close, personal attachment to it. His first flight in it was San Diego to Kaneohe Bay. The model hung over his desk in his study and was much admired by his squadron mates. He was the last surviving pilot, passing away in 2012 at 92. My son has the model now.
