I lifted the original plastic door sill trim (left side) and also lifted the main plastic sill threshold cover (right side) that hides the vehicle wiring. This small hook allowed me to locate and reach the looped solder wire as it passed beneath the holes in the bodywork. I used it like a fishing rod to latch onto my make-shift solder pull wire in preparation for pulling the wired connectors through. See that black/red wire at the bottom of the picture. It was stuck for 20minutes because I thought I could get away without using the pull wire method. The bodywork is full of nooks and crannies that will snag your connectors. Using a pull wire is plain sailing.
